David Kafel serves as Project Manager for Foundry Commercial’s Project Management team in Raleigh, NC. In this role he is responsible for owner, tenant, and landlord improvements as well as new development ground up construction projects.
Prior to joining Foundry Commercial, David worked with The Beck Group as a Senior Project Engineer for the Duke University Athletic Campus Master Plan Renovation. In this role, he oversaw the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, A/V, and fire suppression scopes of work on the new 100K square-foot Football Press Tower. In addition, he managed the BIM 3D Coordination process of all buildings within the Master Plan totaling 160K square-feet and $175MM.
Prior to The Beck Group, he worked for Turner Construction Company in New York working on high-tech projects in the semi-conductor and healthcare markets. David held various positions while working on a 1MM square-foot $570MM semi-conductor cleanroom and utility support building project. These positions included Fab Superintendent, Commissioning Engineer, and VDC/BIM Preconstruction Engineer. While under the position as a BIM Engineer David also oversaw the 3D Coordination for a $61MM hospital expanded emergency care and parking garage addition.
