Grace joined Foundry Commercial’s Atlanta Office leasing team in June 2023. She and her team are responsible for office landlord representation in the greater Atlanta area. Prior to Foundry, Grace spent over 10 years as an in-house leasing agent leasing Atlanta Property Group’s office portfolio.
While at APG, Grace and her team executed over 900 transactions resulting in over $441 million in new rental income. As an in-house leasing agent, Grace learned a great deal about an owners’ approach to acquiring, operating and disposing of office buildings. This experience gives her invaluable insight into the unique challenges and objectives office owners face.

Scotty DeMyer joined the Foundry Commercial leasing team as Senior Vice President July 2023 after spending three years leading CIM Group’s asset management and leasing efforts for office assets across the Southeast. His stint with the California-based private equity group was his most recent role in more than 20 years in the commercial real estate industry.
Scotty earlier held brokerage roles with Colliers, CBRE, JLL, and several boutique firms, earning extensive deal experience representing both institutional and privately owned real estate holdings. He has been representative to office, mixed-use, historic, industrial, data center and retail properties, where he’s often flexed his creativity to lease ground-up development and repositioning of office assets.
As Senior Vice President in Atlanta, Scotty will share his experiences from within both the ownership and brokerage side of the business to add value for clients and their assets through creative positioning and leasing efforts.

Bessie is a tenant rep specializing in office and work spaces, bringing invaluable energy and enthusiasm to her clients’ search and transaction processes. Her career began in the summer of 2020 as an intern for Southsource, and at the same time she participated in Cushman & Wakefield and CBRE’s weekly virtual exposure program. Upon her graduation the following year, she joined Southsource full-time as an associate tenant rep and remained in that role until Southsource merged with Foundry in mid-2023.
Clients benefit from Bessie’s innate ability to build and maintain relationships and her excellent attention to style and design. Uniquely, her past experience is largely influenced by her role helping the tenant rep team implement new digital tools to improve client experiences. Bessie grew up in Gainesville, Georgia and now lives in Atlanta’s Virginia Highland neighborhood. Phil leads Atlanta’s tenant rep team, a similar role to the position he held with Southsouce from 2021 until the boutique brokerage merged with Foundry Commercial in 2023. Phil worked at JLL in Atlanta before joining Southsource. While there, he acquired experience in tenant representation, portfolio management, real estate investments, and lease dispositions.
Phil is particularly experienced in advising professional services companies, likely because he is perceptive and inquisitive, catching all manner of details and minutia around the goals of his clients. He has a deep appreciation for the experiential qualities of neighborhoods and buildings, and how those add value for clients. It’s been said that Phil can find the bright side of a cave, and it’s impossible to talk about his work without mentioning his relentless positivity.

Lawrence, who mostly goes by “LG,” is known by all who have worked with him as a professional with a “what can be” versus “what is” outlook. This led him to found boutique brokerage, Southsource, in 2020 to provide a more personalized and flexible solution for both tenants and landlords in the Atlanta market. Southsource merged with Foundry Commercial in 2023, at which time LG became Atlanta Market Leader.

Prior to Foundry, as a Senior Managing Director with CBRE, Vince led and expanded many of the company’s most successful long-term client accounts, including NISSAN North America and HCA Healthcare. Vince started his commercial real estate career in 1992 with Trammell Crow Company as Vice President & Controller for the Southeast Region and, in 1997, as Principal, he led TCC’s property management business in the Mid-South. Before joining TCC, he was an Audit Manager with Arthur Andersen & Co.

Rhett Batanides serves as Vice President in Foundry’s Charlotte, North Carolina office. He specializes in national tenant representation, leasing large high-end developments, and land projects.
On the tenant side, Rhett has been successful in helping multiple concepts expand across the United States & Canada, serving as their Master Broker. Rhett was mentioned multiple times in Robert Powells’ (Undercover Boss) recently published book, for his work helping expand Mr. Powell’s company nationwide. He has overseen and completed a multitude of new locations across the continent in each company’s expansion.

Matt Hurlbut is a Principal of Office Agency Leasing in Foundry’s Dallas office. As a commercial real estate veteran with nearly 40 years in the industry, he joined the 14-year-old firm to build out the landlord and tenant representation functions in Dallas and surrounding areas. At Foundry, he works closely with Dale Ray as well as other associates throughout the platform to lease office properties in Texas, while building the Dallas office’s growing portfolio of business. He also coordinates with Foundry’s Development & Investments (D&I) and property management teams to promote the complementary service lines across the platform.
Prior to joining Foundry, he spent more than 20 years with Transwestern Commercial Services, where he served as a principal and was primarily responsible for leasing various office properties in multiple submarkets. While there, he closed over 1,500 deals totaling over 10 million square feet. He was also directly involved in business development, asset management, tenant representation, and investment sales. Throughout his career, he has also served in varying asset and investment management positions, where he has been responsible for the management of more than 11 million square feet of office, retail, multifamily, and industrial properties.
Hurlbut is adept at managing all aspects of property operations including developing business plans, debt restructuring, litigation management, operational and capital budgets, valuations, and hold/sell strategies. He received a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Texas Tech University.

Overview
Matt Messier leads the Religious and Educational Practice Group of the company, which has assisted over 3,000 religious, educational, and nonprofit groups in the disposition or acquisition of real estate in almost all 50 states. Matt is one of the original 12 partners who began Foundry Commercial back in 2007 (formerly CNL) when the firm he had worked with for over 15 years (Trammell Crow Company) was purchased. Matt has assisted a number of denominations, extensions funds, lenders and schools with the analysis, management, and brokerage of their real estate. He implemented a national marketing program and single point of contact system for one of the largest extension funds in the country to assist in the asset/property management and sale of organization-owned properties and has continued to manage this account for over 15 years. In addition, Matt is often asked to speak at conferences, lead webinars and is the author of numerous articles in peer magazines and periodicals.
One of the greatest joys of Matt’s life was working side by side with his late father who taught him everything he knows about real estate including the importance of treating every property as if it was owned by his mother. To this day, Matt and his team at Foundry uphold these values.

Lindsay Wolcott Brown is a Vice President of Office Agency Leasing for the Foundry Dallas office. As a commercial real estate professional with over 16 years in the industry, she works closely with Matt Hurlbut and Dale Ray to lease office properties in Texas.
Prior to joining Foundry, she was with Avison Young as part of the agency leasing team to lease office product as well as pursue new business. While there, Lindsay leased a portfolio of approx 3.5 Million SF and growing. Kevin serves as CFO and President of Healthcare Services for Foundry Commercial and brings to the company nearly 25 years of institutional real estate experience. Kevin’s responsibilities include leadership of the financial reporting, accounting, and treasury functions for the organization, as well as overseeing the company’s healthcare strategy including the company’s seniors housing operating business.
Prior to joining Foundry Commercial, Kevin was the Chief Investment Officer for Foster Development, Inc., a privately held developer and operator of seniors housing assets in 8 states. Before joining Foster Development, Kevin was the former Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer for CNL Healthcare Properties and CNL Healthcare Properties II, which are public non-listed real estate investment trusts. Combined, these companies acquired and developed nearly $3.5 billion in seniors housing and healthcare-related real estate. Kevin was instrumental in creating and overseeing the asset management and financial reporting functions for both organizations. Kevin has a long history in the financial accounting and reporting functions for other successful real estate platforms and has participated in approximately $10 billion of healthcare-related real estate transactions over his career.

Jason Holwerda joined the Foundry Commercial team as the Nashville Market Leader in 2014 after spending the first 10 years of his career with Crescent Communities, LLC in leasing and development. Cheshire is a corporate real estate strategist, consultant and broker, licensed in North Carolina and New York State with over 15 years’ experience, representing both public and private companies throughout multiple industries. He will continue to focus on occupier services and growing the tenant representation platform in Foundry’s Raleigh office.
Cheshire has an extensive background in real estate that began in NYC, where he worked on Wall Street, Long Island, and in the Tri State Region. Alongside brokerage, his business experience includes strategic consulting, asset repositioning, site selection, acquisition, disposition, real estate administration, and portfolio management. Through his diverse background and well-established business relationships, Cheshire has acquired a unique and broad-based client following. Chris Bury serves as Vice President and Broker of Foundry Commercial Religious & Educational Real Estate, where he provides leadership to the west coast operations of the company. Chris leads the acquisition and disposition efforts for Foundry Commercial Religious & Educational Real Estate assisting churches, schools, lenders, denominations, and other not-for-profit organizations. In addition, Chris provides consulting services such as property due diligence, church real estate consolidation and mergers, price evaluation, and financial audits.
Chris joins Foundry Commercial, formerly CNL Commercial Real Estate, from Church Development Fund (CDF), a lending organization with over $800 million in total assets. He established CDF’s real estate department from the ground up, developing policies and procedures for asset management. In addition to REO portfolio management, Chris provided real estate consulting services primarily for churches and schools in the acquisition and disposition of real estate.
During his 8 years with CDF, Chris implemented a national management and marketing program including a sell versus hold strategy to maximize rental income. He oversaw the ultimate liquidation of an REO portfolio consisting of 30 properties, successfully reducing the portfolio to an all-time low to ensure departmental profitability.

Chris Hurd serves as a Partner and Investment Advisory Practice Leader in Atlanta. In this role, Chris is responsible for driving the overall growth of the brokerage, management, development and investment businesses in Atlanta. Prior to CNL, he worked for Lincoln Harris CSG as a Facility Director and Senior Property Manager where he oversaw facility management and capital expenditures for the 2nd largest not-for-profit hospital system in the United States. The portfolio consisted of 350 buildings totaling approximately 6 million square feet. Prior to Lincoln Harris, Chris worked as a Senior Property Manager for Spectrum properties where he was responsible for all property management functions for a 550,000 square foot, Class “A” commercial high rise located in Charlotte’s CBD. Andrew is a Senior Vice President in Foundry Commercial’s Investment Advisory Group (IAG), which handles investment sales and capital markets advisory services for investors, institutions, and corporate clients on a nationwide basis. Over the course of his career, Andrew has represented landlords, tenants, buyers, and sellers in leasing and sales across the United States and internationally. His seventeen years of experience, finance background, and thoughtful, analytical approach to commercial real estate transactions combine to help him achieve superior results for his clients.
Prior to joining Foundry Commercial, Andrew managed over 750,000 SF of transactions for his clients during his tenure at OakPoint Real Estate. Before OakPoint, Andrew served as a Director of Dispositions for USI Real Estate, a division of Johnson Controls, in New York City, where he managed sales and subleases of corporate-owned real estate assets for Fortune 500 clients. Previously, Andrew served as Assistant Director, Consulting Services, for Savills Studley in New York City, where he provided strategic consulting and analysis on the negotiation and execution of some of the largest lease transactions handled by the firm.
Outside the office, Andrew is involved in education-related philanthropies, serves on the board of Nashville Classical Charter School, and finds time to travel the world.
