Lanier serves as the Analyst for the Multifamily Investment Sales Team. He is located in Raleigh, North Carolina, where he is responsible for underwriting, financial analysis, market research, and due diligence.

Prior to joining Foundry, Lanier served as an Asset Management Analyst at Dilweg. There, he was responsible for modeling office assets across the Southeast, conducting financial analysis, and producing reports for the firm’s Investment Committee.

Lanier earned dual degrees in economics and finance from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Outside of the office, Lanier enjoys playing golf and spending time with his friends and family.

Austin Maddux is an Executive Managing Director of Investment Management for Foundry Commercial, where he leads the company’s investment management efforts. Maddux has over $13.8 billion of nationwide institutional real estate investing experience across all major property types in addition to $8.6 billion of real estate advisory experience.

Prior to joining Foundry Commercial, he was a Managing Director, Co-Portfolio Manager at American Realty Advisors focusing on ARA’s largest commingled fund. Maddux shared responsibility for all components of fund management including the development and implementation of portfolio strategy, investment composition including acquisition and disposition activities, property operations, and fund data analytics, in addition to serving an important role in client service and client reporting efforts. Maddux also served as the chairman of ARA’s ESG+R Committee.

Before joining ARA, Maddux was an Acquisitions Vice President with Clarion Partners, responsible for sourcing, evaluating, structuring, and closing new investments throughout the western U.S. Prior to that, he served as a Real Estate Investment Banking Analyst in New York with RBC Capital Markets, a subsidiary of the Royal Bank of Canada, focused on advisory and capital raising.

Maddux is a ULI national product council Chair focused on industrial and office properties. He is the President of real estate industry charity group Building Hope at City of Hope, a top-10 nationally ranked comprehensive cancer hospital. He also serves as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Southern California’s Sol Price School of Public Policy teaching finance and investment to graduate and undergraduate students. John Kundak serves as Senior Development Manager for Foundry Commercial focusing on Industrial Service Facilities (ISF) and has over 10 years of commercial real estate experience spanning design, construction, project management, and development aspects.

Prior to joining Foundry Commercial, John worked as a Senior Associate at Marx Okubo Associates, providing project management, owner’s representation, due diligence, property condition assessment, budget planning, and forensics consultant services for financial institutions regarding commercial, residential, industrial, and warehousing projects with construction costs ranging from $10million to $750million. These projects also included Foundry projects, such as Princeton Oaks, Midpoint Miami, and Bryton Commerce Center.

Rick is responsible for developing the retail vertical for Foundry. He will also assist on creating programs and raising funds for Foundry’s broader development and acquisition business. Prior to his tenure with Foundry Rick served as the President of Fidelis Realty Partners DFW, LLC where he was responsible for all acquisition, development and investment activity in the DFW metropolitan area. Under Rick’s leadership Fidelis DFW acquired and developed over 2.6 million square feet of retail with a total cost of $400 million. Prior to Fidelis, Rick served as the Chief Investment Officer for CNL Fund Management. During his tenure, CNL sponsored real estate funds completed over $2.5 billion in real estate investments across almost every asset class. Before joining CNL, Rick was a founding partner of Parkwood Real Estate Partners (Parkwood), a privately-held real estate investment company formed in 2005. While at Parkwood, Rick and his partners were responsible for sourcing and structuring over 60 real estate investments in office, retail and industrial assets with a total cost exceeding $1 billion. Prior to Parkwood Rick spent more than 17 years at Trammell Crow Company (TCC), where he served in many roles ending as a Senior Managing Director of the Development & Investment Group where he also served as a member of the company’s Operating Committee. While at TCC, Rick was involved with structuring, reviewing and approving more than $5 billion of acquisition, development and structured finance transactions.

Matthew serves as Managing Director, Development & Investments (D&I) where he co-leads Foundry’s retail investment platform. Based in Dallas, but with pursuits across the country, he is responsible for sourcing and executing retail investment opportunities. Matthew works closely with other associates throughout the business’s D&I and retail services parts to source investment opportunities, create programs, and raise funds for Foundry’s broader development and acquisition business.

Matthew draws on over a 20-year extensive real estate career specializing in development and acquisitions, including over 2.5 million square feet of development and over $2.5 billion of acquisitions.

Prior to joining Foundry Commercial, Matthew served as COO and Senior Vice President for Lincoln Property Company in Dallas, where he led and managed 65 team members in Lincoln’s retail and mixed-use division engaged in development, acquisition, redevelopment, capital markets, leasing services, as well as asset, property, and construction management. During his nine years with Lincoln, he completed over 36 acquisitions and development deals with an aggregate value of $1.4 billion and raised and placed a $250 million single-tenant net lease fund. During his career, he has also been Vice President of Development and Acquisitions for The Retail Connection as well as Vice President of Development for The MGHerring Group, both in the greater Dallas metro. Prior to these positions, he worked for Prudential (PGIM) in New Jersey and The Carlyle Group in Washington, DC.

Matthew earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and accounting with Special Attainments in Commerce at Washington and Lee University and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Ryan Mayer serves as a Development Manager for Foundry Commercial overseeing the Tenant Improvement Projects for the Development and Investment’s team. Prior to joining Foundry, Ryan’s professional experience includes working in Project Management for a local General Contractor focusing on K-12 Education Projects. Ryan also served as a Safety Engineer working to improve company facilities and employee safety at large substations. Ryan was able to gain his OSHA 30 Construction Safety and Health Certificate through this experience.

Mark is a Deal Principal and Managing Director on the Development and Investments team. In that role, he co-leads underwriting, capitalization, and sourcing efforts for industrial, multifamily, retail, and office transactions in North and South Carolina.

Previous to Foundry, Mark was the Senior Vice President & Managing Director for Cousins Properties’ Charlotte portfolio, acting as market leader for six years. Prior to that, he was a Senior Vice President and Partner at Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer, leading up to and including that firm’s acquisition by Foundry in 2015. He also spent nine years within Bank of America’s corporate real estate department, where he was a Senior Vice President and Transaction Director for a 20-million square foot portfolio in the Southeastern US.

Mark holds a Doctorate and Masters in Business Administration, a Six Sigma Black Belt, and is currently a Board Director for Charlotte Center City Partners.

Ted Elam joined Foundry Commercial in 2017 and serves a Principal. He leads underwriting, capitalization, and sourcing efforts for Development & Investments, in South Florida. Ted has closed over $350MM of acquisitions and dispositions in both office and industrial across South Florida and Texas including over $250MM in industrial product in South Florida.

Prior to his role as Vice President, he served in Foundry’s Deal Hub as an Associate where the team lead the underwriting and acquisition of over $1.5B of office, industrial, and retail assets over the past five years. Ted began his career as a Financial Analyst at DISH Network and later developed a passion for real estate as a Business Intelligence Analyst at JLL.

Steve Bassett is a real estate veteran with more than 30 years’ experience in the industry. Bassett is a proven leader in leading and growing markets through strategically focusing on client strategy formation and building teams to deliver superior client outcomes. He has joined Foundry as the Texas market leader based in the Dallas office. In his role as Texas Market Leader, Bassett is responsible for increasing the footprint of Foundry’s services platform in the greater Texas region with an emphasis on the Dallas-Fort Worth market. Building upon his decades of relationships and experience, Steve forges new business growth with clients across brokerage, project management, and property / facilities management. Bassett also works closely with Foundry’s Development & Investment platform to secure additional investment and partnership opportunities, while also supporting several strategic growth initiatives and offerings.

Prior to joining Foundry Commercial, Bassett was at CBRE/Trammell Crow Company for almost 20 years, where as an Executive Managing Director, he served as the U.S. Investor Services Business Development Leader and Office Leasing Practice Leader. His last role was Global Account Executive covering some of CBRE’s largest global clients across all lines of business. Prior to that, he was the Executive Managing Director of Strategic Accounts, where he led teams focused on ensuring client strategies were achieved along with service delivery accountability. Bassett also served as Senior Vice President and Regional Director for JLL in the late 90s before he left to join CBRE (then Trammell Crow Company).

Nick Vinson joined Foundry Commercial in October 2019 and serves as a Vice President in the Nashville Office. Nick is responsible for the sourcing and execution of acquisition and development opportunities for the Development and Investments teams.

Prior to joining Foundry, Nick was a senior analyst for PGIM Real Estate Finance as part of their national originations team in Atlanta, Georgia. Rayanne Charles serves Foundry as a Controller for the Development and Investments team because of her experience in the realm of Construction and Development. Rayanne joined Foundry in June 2016 as a Business Unit Controller for Foundry Commercial’s corporate affairs working with GL accounting, auditing, and financial analytics.

Prior to Foundry, Rayanne was the Controller at Vision Hospitality Construction (VHC), a $125MM+ company specializing in construction for the hospitality industry in Florida, New Jersey, and Illinois. She helped VHC become incorporated, overseeing the process from inception to closure including leadership support, financials setup such as accounting, inventory, and payroll, as well as staff oversight for her team of 20 employees. Rayanne also assisted with bidding new projects, permitting, marketing, & lending. She was responsible for bringing in 45MM+ of new projects for VHC. Rayanne went on to receive her general contractors license for the State of Florida to maintain Vision Hospitality Construction’s qualification, but eventually assisted with the liquidation of their active projects portfolio.

Rayanne began her career in public accounting, helping to grow a small CPA firm into one of the Top 10 Firms in Orlando through her efforts in billings, marketing, and innovative tax season processing.

Matt serves as Vice President, Asset Management on the Development and Investments team in the Dallas, Texas office. His responsibilities include the underwriting, due diligence, and asset management of office, retail, and industrial properties across the Southeast. His primary focus is evaluating new lease prospects, analyzing due diligence for new investments, and contributing to the successful implementation of each property’s business plan. Prior to joining Foundry Commercial, Matt worked as an analyst at NorthMarq Capital in Dallas and as an analyst at Presidium Group in Austin.  Matt graduated with a Finance Degree and Real Estate Certificate from The McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin. Away from work, Matt enjoys rooting for the Texas Longhorns, spending time on the Katy Trail, golfing, finding new music, and traveling.

Jim Wells serves Foundry Commercial as Principal and Managing Director of Asset Management in Dallas, bringing more than 40 years of commercial real estate experience to the team. He currently has overall responsibility of leasing, property management, and creating value on $2B of assets under management for Foundry Commercial’s various funds.

Prior to joining Foundry Commercial, Jim served as the Global Alliance Director of CB Richard Ellis’ Hewlett Packard account, where he led more than 350 associates and a portfolio of 24 million square feet in over 30 countries. Jim’s responsibilities included driving occupancy costs in areas such as space consolidation and reduction, providing industry best practices, and building relationships with the client’s regional leadership team.

Earlier in his career, Jim served in a variety of roles with Trammell Crow Company directing all business development and property management activities for 40+ million square feet of space in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

Jim Traynor serves as Managing Director, Development & Investments (D&I) with a primary focus on the Dallas market. In his role, Traynor is responsible for sourcing, capitalizing, and executing commercial real estate acquisitions and development opportunities in office, industrial, and retail product types throughout Dallas – Fort Worth.
Prior to Foundry, Traynor comes from his position as Managing Director of Acquisitions at Acram Group, where he led all investment efforts in Texas and Colorado for the organization. He joined Acram Group in 2018, when he moved to the Dallas-Fort Worth area from New York City, where he’d been working as Vice President of Acquisitions for L&L Holding Company. While there, he served as Project Director for 390 Madison, an 850,000 square foot office and retail development in New York City, and completed over $2.0 billion of acquisitions and joint venture recapitalizations in New York City.

Jason Holwerda joined the Foundry Commercial team as the Nashville Market Leader in 2014 after spending the first 10 years of his career with Crescent Communities, LLC in leasing and development. As Market Leader Jason is responsible for the overall Nashville business unit and the day-to-day operation as well as maintaining and servicing a number of clients both local and institutional. Jason also serves as the deal principal for the Nashville region and is responsible for sourcing and deploying Foundry capital in the region.

Throughout his brokerage career, Jason has leased over 5 million square feet both on the Landlord and Tenant side of transactions which total more than $1 Billion in total lease transaction volume.  In addition, he has been instrumental in several office and industrial development projects, investment sales, acquisitions and dispositions. Jason’s history in leasing and brokerage have enabled him to successfully work with some of the best clients, owners and tenants in the industry.

Don Albright previously served as a Principal at Avison Young and as the director for the Capital Markets Group where he lead sales and investment activity as well as assisted in strategic planning and client relationship management. Don has more than 39 years of commercial real estate experience and has a broad base of contacts ranging from local, private capital to institutional investors. His extensive knowledge of capital markets and institutional transactions provides a basis for advisory and assignments in all investment property types.

Prior to joining Avison Young, Don was the Director for the Capital Markets Group in Cushman & Wakefield, where he led his team to execute $500 million in transaction volume consisting over 10 million square feet from 2012 to 2015. Don was formerly President of Covenant Realty Advisors, LLC and worked with CB Richard Ellis as a Senior Vice President of Investment Properties. During his Tenure at CB Richard Ellis, Don sold investment properties totaling 16.9 million square feet, exceeding $1.3 billion in value from 2003 to 2007 and was top 5 annual producer in 2003. David serves as a Principal on the Development & Investments group for Foundry Commercial, helping the day to day efforts of on-going development projects in South Florida with Ted Elam. He is also charged with pursuing new development and acquisition opportunities.

David began his career on the project management side of Foundry Commercial, initially starting as a Senior Project Manager and quickly working his way to Vice President of the South Florida Development & Investments Team. He helped lead the three phase Carrie Meek International Business Park project which was a 2,685,000 SF quasi-public private partnership with Miami-Dade County and Miami-Dade Aviation Department.

Prior to joining Foundry Commercial, Bill led the Investment Sales Platform for Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer in Charlotte, NC. Immediately prior to joining Thalhimer, Bill was responsible for the disposition of commercial REO assets for national and regional commercial banks throughout the Southeast while at Cassidy Turley.

Bill’s background includes 35 years of commercial real estate experience, 15 years of which were spent with Bank of America in Real Estate Investment Banking, construction lending, and structured finance groups. Ankoor Jivan serves as Vice President of Development & Investments for Foundry Commercial and has 10 years of commercial real estate experience. Since the inception of the Foundry D&I platform in 2013, AJ has been responsible for managing the Deal Hub, which executes investment analysis, capitalization, due diligence, closing, and portfolio management of all of Foundry’s acquisition and development activities. Andrew Sineni serves as Senior Vice President of User Development Services with Foundry Commercial, based in the firm’s Orlando office.

Sineni is relocating to Florida from the St. Louis, Mo. area, where he served with a global commercial real estate services and investment firm as the market leader for the company’s Project Management Group. His team was responsible for overseeing more than 60 projects totaling over a million square feet per year in nearly every CRE sector. In addition, his team led a multi-market account portfolio totaling over 10 million square feet and 8,000 locations globally.

Andrew has worked in the design and development fields since 2003. Prior to joining CBRE, he was the Director of Real Estate Development with RL Jones Properties and RLJ Construction, Inc., where he oversaw commercial developments and was responsible for operations, financial, leasing, and construction.

Emily has over two years of experience working on commercial real estate investments, with a focus on Class A industrial and office buildings. She is currently a development and investments analyst at Foundry Commercial underwriting various investment opportunities across the Southeast and performing thorough market studies. Emily assists with all the required steps of an investment process, from underwriting a project to closing on the deal to helping manage the asset. Prior to working for Foundry, Emily started her career out of college as an equity asset management analyst for PCCP out of their Atlanta office where she helped manage roughly 15 different deals, some of which consisted of multiple buildings and/or distressed assets.

Emily graduated from Florida State University’s business school with a degree in finance and real estate in April 2021. During her time in college, she served as the President of the Real Estate Society and led multiple meetings, tours, and networking events. Her first job opportunity within the commercial real estate industry was an internship with the State Board of Administration of Florida’s Real Estate department where she worked closely with the acquisitions manager and assisted portfolio managers in analyzing investment opportunities. Emily then interned for USAA Real Estate’s summer internship program within their capital markets and portfolio management departments. Lastly, she worked for a local real estate appraisal in Tallahassee, FL while she finished her degree.

Jonathan Balthrop serves as Executive Managing Director and Head of Investments for Foundry Commercial.   Jonathan has 18 years of real estate and finance experience and oversees investments for the company’s Development & Investments business.  Prior to his current role, Jonathan served as Vice President of Development & Investments for Foundry, where he has closed and/or capitalized over $4 billion in transaction volume.

Jonathan previously served as the Finance Manager for Foundry Commercial. In this role, Jonathan led the corporate finance, forecasting and capital planning of the company. He was also responsible for all M&A activity, as well as the asset management, dispositions and financing of the company’s legacy real estate portfolio.

Prior to joining Foundry Commercial, Jonathan served as Vice President of a real estate management and consulting firm. In this capacity, he led the company’s business development and financial operations, working with clients across the country to reposition real estate assets and improve financial performance throughout the Global Financial Crisis.

Jonathan began his career with the top-performing division of a Fortune 150 homebuilder, where he launched a 500-acre development in the center of a nationally recognized 7,000-acre mixed-use planned community.
