Company Profile
Skaltek is a global company based in Sweden. Skaltek America was established in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1981. Skaltek is a unique company, providing specialized machinery and materials including coil, shrink film packing, self-centering pintels, semi-automatic take-up systems, pay off applications, aluminum tubing applications, container systems, and plastic tubing applications.
Skaltek Ecopark
Constructed by Evans General Contractors and designed by Wakefield Beasley & Associates (now
Nelson Worldwide), the Skaltek building is a bold, geometric structure placed on columns over floodplain
and overlooking 15 acres of serene open space. The oversized height of the building, its floor-to-ceiling
windows, and skylights offer access to sunlight and panoramic views of nature.
Grounded by the company’s transparent philosophy, the workspace area is completely open
concept. Glass walls separate the work area from the manufacturing space, so onlookers can
watch product testing, research development, and assembly. Thermal influence is reduced
by utilizing a standing seam roof overhang at the office and Insulated Metal Panels in the
manufacturing area. The complex includes an air compressor and two overhead cranes.
Skaltek is built inside a master-planned technology park called Ecopark. The final undeveloped
19 acres of Ecopark recently sold to Italian company Ficep Corporation for the development of a
225,000 SF multi-phase project, serving as Ficep’s North American Headquarters and utilized for
light manufacturing, assembly, sales, training, and management.
51,000 SF oriented to take maximum use of sunlight resulting in uniquely low heating and cooling
usage. Property is overparked and immaculately landscaped with unique water quality / detention
utilizing the adjacent flood plane, which the open window office area overlooks.
Location
Forsyth County, Georgia, is currently one of the wealthiest, fastest growing counties, with the highest rated school system in Georgia. Prominent high elevation location on the Ronald Reagan/ Shiloh Rd intersection. There will be very few developable sites along this new stretch of Ronald Reagan due to the abundant areas of swamp while incorporating the new Forsyth County Greenway system. The adjacent GA 400 has been officially designated “The Technology Corridor” of Georgia. Approximately 1+- miles north of the Halcyon mixed-use development and 2 miles north of new “The Gathering,” a major event and mixed-use facility recently approved by Forsyth County and currently in contract talks with the NHL for a new Atlanta NHL team.
