-As development gets underway for the four-building mixed-use project, Foundry Commercial announces the opening of pre-leasing opportunities-
Raleigh, N.C. (July 1, 2019) – Foundry Commercial, the multi-city commercial real estate firm with offices across the Southeast and Texas, was named by Acquisition Group as the exclusive office leasing agent for Nexus in downtown Raleigh. In this role, Foundry provides leasing services for the 300,000+ square feet of office space that will be located within the 1.0 million+ square feet of total space encompassing residential, retail, and hotel properties. Foundry joins other project partners – Acquisition Group (owner), East West Partners (developer), Gensler (architect), Elkus Manfredi (architect), and Kimley Horn (engineer) – to bring the four-building, mixed-use development to market.
Formerly the home of the News & Observer, the Triangle area’s daily newspaper, the Nexus project is currently in for permitting and slated to begin in 2020 with an anticipated project completion in 2022.
Located at 215 S. McDowell Street, the Nexus project continues the trend of recently revitalized sites in the downtown area. According to John Kelly, SIOR, Market Leader for Foundry Commercial’s Raleigh office: “Nexus will be the preeminent, modern, mixed-use development in downtown Raleigh, encompassing an entire city block. The office tower’s exceptional location marks the epicenter of phenomenal growth in Raleigh. At this time, we are actively looking for an anchor tenant to help brand the building, making Nexus the perfect space for a business that would like to cement their reputation as a key player in the Raleigh business scene.”
Tenants can glance out of the building’s windows to inspiring views over Nash Square and into Raleigh’s burgeoning Warehouse District, provided by the unique orientation that has been built into the project’s carefully considered design. The project is also being lauded for its pioneering efforts to integrate SMART technology throughout each of the phases, offering tenants, residents and users an unrivaled experience in convenience and luxury.
