Orlando, Fla. (Dec. 18, 2025) – Foundry Commercial is pleased to announce that Luc Picotte has joined the firm as Vice President, Brokerage, based in the company’s Orlando headquarters. Picotte brings nearly 30 years of commercial real estate experience spanning brokerage, operations, development, and strategy – across both the U.S. and Canada – with deep expertise in the retail sector.
Born and raised in Quebec, Picotte began his career in operations before transitioning into real estate, where he managed and operated institutional assets across Canada.
Driven by the desire to work in the U.S. market, Picotte later joined retail real estate giant GGP (now Brookfield Properties) to oversee the Pacific Northwest division, managing a portfolio of 10 regional malls totaling more than one million square feet and anchored by marquee retailers like Nordstrom and Saks. His expertise in the office segment proved invaluable as GGP expanded into mixed-use assets. After notable success in the Pacific Northwest, Picotte was tapped to lead the company’s national strategy to better integrate and reposition office and retail components across its portfolio. During his tenure, he oversaw repositioning efforts for non-core assets and facilitated more than $1 billion in dispositions.
Picotte later helped Cadillac Fairview refine its national retail strategy, realigning operations, merchandising, and portfolio planning to support the entry and expansion of major U.S. retailers into Canada – including Nordstrom and Saks – and working across flagship assets such as the Toronto Eaton Centre. Leveraging his combined leasing, operational, financial, and development expertise, he then launched a South Florida–based consultancy advising owners and developers on repositioning retail assets, mixed-use planning, and tenanting strategy. Most recently, he served as President of Demetree Global, where he oversaw the family office’s statewide portfolio, led development and leasing efforts on multiple projects, and advanced several large-scale strategic initiatives across Central Florida.
“Luc is well-known and well-respected throughout the retail industry across North America,” said Justin Ruby, Partner at Foundry Commercial. “His breadth of experience across brokerage, operations, development, and mixed-use strategy makes him an incredible asset to our team. We’re thrilled to have him on board to lead the growth of our retail brokerage platform in Florida.”
Picotte holds a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering and a Master’s in Project Management from the University of Quebec, as well as an M.B.A. from Laval University. He is a member of ICSC.
