JOYBOX, Part of Creative City Project’s IMMERSE 2021, Opens at Fulcrum in Downtown Orlando
Orlando, Fla. (Sept. 21, 2021) – Having become one of Central Florida’s preeminent arts events each year, Creative City Project’s “IMMERSE” expands in its 9th year to include JOYBOX, a large-scale, interactive art exhibition that will run through October 24, 2021. JOYBOX – sponsored by Orlando Health – has been designed around everything ‘happy’ and is occurring at Fulcrum, a recently redeveloped four-story creative office building in downtown Orlando.
Located at 150 North Orange Avenue, Fulcrum is a joint venture between developers Third & Urban and FCP. Foundry Commercial provides leasing and management of the building. Juxtaposed against surrounding high rises in downtown Orlando, Fulcrum offers a dedicated tenant entry in addition to the main lobby, allowing building tenants to bypass more crowded areas during varying parts of the day. The 76,000+ square foot Fulcrum features open office spaces with shared tenant amenities and street-level retail and restaurant space.
JOYBOX occupies just over 15,000 square feet of one of the retail spaces within Fulcrum. Having just opened to the public on September 17, JOYBOX includes art installations inspired by the catchy, familiar phrases of happiness, like the “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” room, an exhibit that is illuminated with black lights and full of piles of shredded neon paper. A separate “Step into the Light” room features a giant 8’ circular light sculpture in a large open space. Visitors can also message life’s blessings into the Blessing Counter in the “Count Your Blessings” room, and large LED scrollers will display their blessings on the walls. Anyone who would like to purchase tickets to JOYBOX – or the larger Creative City Project’s IMMERSE event, which is presented by Orlando Health/Orlando Regional Medical Center – should visit www.immersefest.com. IMMERSE 2021 is put on in partnership with Orange County Arts and Cultural Affairs, City of Orlando, and Downtown Development Board.
