Katie Trott, Foundry Partner and long-time broker based in the Tampa office, has joined the FSU Real Estate Center Executive Board. This board assists in advancing the FSU Real Estate Program’s visibility and national standing; serves in an advisory capacity to the program’s faculty; assists in developing strategies to enhance the program’s resources; and assists regarding career counseling, mentoring, and placement of the program’s students.
“From her many years of involvement as an engaged alumnus and in helping to plan the esteemed FSU Real Estate TRENDS Conference, Katie exemplifies what we’re looking for in an Executive Board member – a commitment to and an affinity for seeing to it that the next generation of real estate professionals are prepared for the real world,” said Yvonne Baker, Executive Director of the FSU Real Estate Center.
The Center is housed in the university’s Department of Risk Management/Insurance, Real Estate and Legal Studies, and was recently ranked #5 among public universities and #8 among all universities in the U.S. for a second straight year. Boasting high-achieving students, top-rated faculty, supportive administrators, and engaged alumni, the program is one of the largest nationally with more than 1,000 students.
The Center’s premier event, the annual world-class FSU Real Estate TRENDS Conference, offers professional and student participants insights on industry trends and conditions. Katie has been involved in the planning of the TRENDS Conference for several years, helping to raise it to the level of being regarded among the nation’s most prestigious conferences. One of the hallmarks of FSU’s Real Estate Center is that it extends learning experiences beyond the traditional classroom, deliberately encouraging engagement between students and professionals in the industry.
“Katie has always raised her hand when a student wants to talk with an industry professional one-on-one. In all regards, she’s always been available to the program and our students,” added Baker.
Katie graduated from FSU with dual degrees in Real Estate and Finance in 2002. In addition to her involvement with the FSU Real Estate Center, including serving on the school’s Conference Committee for several years, she has also been a board member of the Tampa Bay Seminole Club and is a member of the Florida State University Alumni Association. As one of the original associates to join Foundry, Katie brings over 20 years of commercial real estate experience specializing in corporate real estate services including site selection, lease negotiations, acquisitions, build-to-suit, and dispositions of excess corporate real estate.
