Leasing Momentum Continues at The Line with Addition of SignatureFD and Society Awards to Lineup
Charlotte, N.C. (June 15, 2023) –Wealth Management firm SignatureFD moved its Charlotte location into The Line, a 16-story tower fronting the recently reopened Rail Trail in the heart of Charlotte’s South End. Headquartered in Atlanta, SignatureFD established a Charlotte presence in 2014 when Russ Cearley launched the local office.
“As we evaluated where we wanted to office in Charlotte, we wanted a place where our employees would enjoy coming to work and where our clients would enjoy coming to meet with us. We wanted our office to be a destination, in a vibrant location that was walkable to many great restaurants and amenities, and we wanted to be convenient to other key business districts in the region. South End, and specifically The Line, checked all those boxes for us,” said Cearley.
At The Line, SignatureFD now occupies 3,700+ square feet on the building’s 10th floor. The Charlotte office – which currently employs nine people – is not only expanding in square footage with this move but also plans to hire additional employees. The new office space was intentionally designed to have a comfortable, residential feel up front for clients and visitors. The back of the house is designed to be an open workspace to encourage collaboration among all employees. The architect-design firm on the project was NELSON Worldwide; the general contractor was Harker, LLC; Foundry Commercial’s Meredith Ball and Claiborne Dandridge handled the lease on behalf of the building’s owner; and the tenant was represented by Keith Bell of Cushman & Wakefield.
The Line, which Portman Holdings owns as part of a joint venture, was completed in early 2022 and has quickly become one of the marquee projects in Charlotte’s South End. The Line features 290,000 square feet of Class-A office space with a first-of-its-kind in Charlotte sky lobby with outdoor terrace on the 8th floor. The office floors are comprised of 35,000 square feet per floor, many including private balconies and sweeping views of Charlotte. Several weeks ago, the new location of Sycamore Brewing opened to widespread popularity and acclaim at The Line.
In addition to SignatureFD, The Line is also home to Northeastern University, Experis, and Foundry Commercial. And it was just announced that Society Awards, the premier designer and manufacturer of prestigious awards including the Golden Globes, Emmys, MTV Music Awards, and more, will be joining the lineup at the building. Expected to move into The Line later this summer, Society Awards will be taking another 4,000 square feet on the 12th floor for their Charlotte-based operations.
Located at 2151 Hawkins Street, the Line features 20,000+ square feet of ground-floor retail space, is home to Sycamore Brewing, Savi Provisions and a related juice bar concept, Grit Box Fitness, and Chapter 6 by Jon Dressler. A 9,500-square-foot open air passage between Sycamore Brewing and Chapter 6 serves as a public living room connecting Hawkins Street and the Rail Trail. Foundry Senior Vice President Keely Hines has served as the retail leasing representative for the project.
