Atlanta, Ga. (Feb. 10, 2026) – Foundry Commercial is strengthening its Development & Investments (D&I) platform in Atlanta with the addition of York Murray as a Deal Principal. In this role, Murray will lead underwriting, capitalization, and sourcing efforts for development transactions across the metro area.
Murray brings more than 20 years of experience delivering complex, large-scale real estate developments across diverse asset classes and major U.S. markets. Throughout his career, he has completed more than 3.1 million square feet of commercial development, with a total built cost exceeding $1.2 billion. He most recently served as Partner and Managing Director at Partners, where he focused on sourcing and executing high-impact investment opportunities throughout the southeast.
His addition comes as Foundry’s Development & Investments platform continues a period of significant growth. The platform closed 2025 with a $3.6 billion portfolio spanning multiple asset types and geographic markets, earning recognition as one of Commercial Property Executive’s top ten developers of 2025. That momentum has been driven by forward-thinking adaptive reuse initiatives, significant infill industrial development, and the continued evolution of a diversified investment strategy aligned with long-term demographic and economic trends.
Previously, Murray held senior development leadership roles at Jamestown, where he served as Regional Director of Development for the Southeast and led all Phase II development efforts at Atlanta’s iconic Ponce City Market. His work included Scout Living, a 405-unit flex hospitality project; Signal House, a 163-unit multifamily development; and 619 Ponce, a 114,000-square-foot mass timber boutique office building.
Prior to Jamestown, Murray was Vice President of Development at Strategic Property Partners, where he led office development for multiple Phase I projects within the transformational Water Street Tampa district. His portfolio included more than 1 million square feet of Class-A office, retail, entertainment and parking assets. Earlier in his career, Murray held development roles with Fisher Brothers and Madison Marquette, where he led office development for The Wharf in Washington, D.C., one of the nation’s most prominent mixed-use waterfront projects.
Murray began his career on the general contractor and construction side of the business, an experience that continues to inform his disciplined, execution-focused approach to development.
“York has built his career delivering some of the most complex and high-profile urban developments in the country,” said Pryse Elam, President of Development & Investments at Foundry Commercial. “As our platform continues to scale nationally, his experience and leadership are exactly what we need to support our growth in Atlanta and beyond.”
Murray said Foundry’s combination of sophistication and entrepreneurial culture drew him to the firm.
“Foundry offers the depth, resources, and long-term perspective of a best-in-class development platform, while still empowering its leaders to think entrepreneurially,” Murray said. “It represents a natural progression in my career and a place where I can help create meaningful, market-driven projects.”
Murray earned bachelor’s degrees in economics and history from Denison University and holds an MBA from Boston College. He lives in Atlanta’s Buckhead area with his wife and two sons and coaches youth hockey and lacrosse.
