Portman to Develop Three Towers Featuring Office, Multifamily, and Retail in Dallas Arts District

Dallas, Texas (June 15, 2022) – Excitement is building at the intersection of Ross Avenue and Routh Street in downtown Dallas, where Atlanta-based Portman recently closed on 4+ acres of land on which to develop a mixed-use multifamily, retail, and office project.
Portman, an over 62-year-old national developer, set its sights on the Dallas market as its next development target due to the market’s increasing desirability as a live-work-play destination.
“One critical factor that Portman looks for before deciding to develop somewhere is the opportunity to cultivate community, to activate an area with spaces that are just as appropriate for meetings as they are for rejuvenation, and we felt strongly that this site provides just that,” said Travis Garland, Executive Vice President, Portman Holdings. “This development, located within the thriving Dallas Arts District, will become a centerpiece of the uptown Dallas skyline.”
Dubbed ‘2500 Ross,’ the master-planned, mixed-use development will feature three buildings. The anchor tower will incorporate 50 stories of office and luxury residential as well as 40,000 square feet of retail to support the development and surrounding area. Also defining the Dallas skyline as part of this project will be two adjacent residential towers delivering 700 units between them. Portman expects to break ground on the project in the second quarter of next year, with slated completion by the third quarter of 2025.
Preliminary designs, which Portman is working on with Handel Architects and HKS’ Dallas office, also feature plentiful community, outdoor, and green spaces throughout the project.
Portman has selected the Dallas office of Foundry Commercial to lease the approximately 400,000-square-foot office tower. For any questions related to office leasing at 2500 Ross, contact Foundry’s Matt Hurlbut, Dale Ray, or Lindsay Wolcott Brown at 972-998-1998.
