Charlotte, NC (October 17, 2023) – Foundry Commercial, in concert with Morrison shopping center owner Ferncroft Capital, announces the creative repositioning of a former Earthfare grocery store into subdivided space to make way for more boutique and specialty retailers. Totaling nearly 25,000 square feet, the site will soon be home to Ann Sacks, a curator of fine tile and stone. The 13,124-square-foot space that Ann Sacks will occupy marks their first showroom in the Carolinas and will feature both an expansive showroom in addition to a slab gallery, allowing clients the ability to hand select their specific slabs on site.
“We are thrilled to open our next showroom and slab gallery in this vibrant area of Charlotte. The design-focused community is a natural fit for Ann Sacks. Our showroom will offer clients a range of premium tile and stone for residential and commercial projects alike, as well as in-stock vanities and plumbing solutions for the whole home. Our slab gallery will house a curated assortment of premium marbles, quartzites, and travertines from around the world,” said Claire Miller, Ann Sacks General Manager.
“The market is fairly saturated with grocery stores, so in coordination with Ferncroft Capital, we decided to split up the space to accommodate several smaller concepts anxious to get a foothold in the hot SouthPark submarket”, said Keely Hines, Senior Vice President focused on retail leasing with Foundry Commercial. “We’re thrilled Ann Sacks has signed on to lease a large portion of the former grocery store space; they were attracted to Morrison due to the existing design-based tenants already in the center, including Circa Interiors, BD Jeffries, and Maison by Kim Mauney. Morrison has truly become a destination focused on design and luxury living.”
In addition to Ann Sacks Stone & Tile Showroom, Magnolia Laine Bridal will occupy just over 2,000 square feet. Based in Atlanta, the SouthPark location will mark the bridal boutique’s first in Charlotte. A national med spa brand is also expected to sign a lease to occupy another 2,000+ square feet at Morrison within the next few weeks.
“Three additional small bays totaling more than 5,200 square feet are currently being negotiated,” added Hines. “Charlotte’s real estate market is vibrant, and in particular, we’re seeing strong demand in the retail segment, so it’s exciting when we can create a solution that’s a win-win for both tenants and landlord.”
The buildout for the new spaces is expected to deliver in Spring 2024, with anticipated openings later in the year.
