Raleigh, N.C. (July 9, 2020) – Despite a global pandemic and resulting economic slowdown, Foundry Commercial has served as the tenant rep for five new Starbucks coffeehouses in the eastern half of North Carolina, with opening dates spanning April – July 2020. Foundry’s Julie Augustyn and James Mattox have assisted the Seattle-based chain of quick-service cafes with site selection and lease negotiation in the following locations:
- Raleigh, NC (Midtown East) – Opened early April 2020. This Starbucks location is in an outparcel to first Wegmans supermarket in the Triangle. [2901 Sherman Oak Place, Raleigh, NC 27609]
- Henderson, NC – Opened mid-April 2020. Marking the first Starbucks in Henderson, this location has been redeveloped from a former Payless ShoeSource discount footwear store, with convenient I-85 access. [1522 Dabney Drive, Henderson, NC 27536]
- Kinston, NC – Opened early June 2020. Also marking the first Starbucks in Kinston, this location is a redeveloped former RadioShack retail store. [4177 West Vernon Avenue, Kinston, NC 28504]
- Chapel Hill, NC – Opened mid-June 2020. Located in Carraway Village, this Starbucks is the first drive-through location in Chapel Hill. [100 Village Center Drive, #1001, Chapel Hill, NC 27516]
- Apex, NC – Anticipated opening July 2020. Located in Beaver Creek, this Starbucks is in a redeveloped former gas station with shared access to Beaver Creek Commons regional retail center. In addition to the Starbucks, Foundry Commercial also helped the developer setup leasing arrangements with Mezeh, Tropical Smoothie, and Mattress Warehouse in the retail center. [1264 W. With strong relationships and vast experience throughout the southeastern U.S. and beyond, Foundry Commercial is proud to represent some of the region’s most dynamic tenants. “It has been a pleasure to represent Starbucks during this period of expansion and align with their motto ‘To inspire and nurture the human spirit — one person, one cup, one neighborhood at a time,’” stated Julie Augustyn, Senior Vice President. On average, these new North Carolina locations encompass 2,500 square feet and are equipped with the drive-through option.
