Plano, Texas (April 17, 2025) – Foundry Commercial and Holt Lunsford Commercial are pleased to announce the sale of The Dallas Morning News’ 620,000-square-foot printing facility in Plano, Texas. Foundry and Holt Lunsford co-brokered this $43.5 million deal that closed earlier this month. The property was bought by Denago EV, a low-speed vehicle company which will make Plano the Southern U.S. hub for its electric golf cart line.
Since 1983, 3900 W. Plano Parkway has been the home of The News’ printing operation. The landmark property spans approximately 29 acres of a Class-A infill location, in one of the most successful suburban areas of Dallas. With factors like its close proximity to both DFW Airport and Love Field Airport, Plano has become known as a thriving business community. In fact, over 70 of Forbes’ Global 2000 companies now call Plano home.
With the sale, The News used a portion of the proceeds to fully fund their pension plans for all 1,300 employees.
“To say we are pleased with the financial outcome from the sale of this asset would be an understatement,” said Katy Murray, President of DallasNews Corporation. “This was a significant milestone for The News, and we couldn’t have asked for better partners than Marty Neilon with Foundry Commercial and Josh Barnes with Holt Lunsford Commercial. ”
“This is an iconic and well-located asset in DFW,” said Marty Neilon, Senior Vice President at Foundry Commercial who co-brokered the deal. “We were honored to be a part of this generational sale and are thrilled with this outcome for The Dallas Morning News.”
“It was a privilege to help The Dallas Morning News transfer this asset to a new generation of ownership,” shared Josh Barnes, Senior Vice President at Holt Lunsford Commercial. “We are grateful for the opportunity and excited about the outcome.”
DallasNews Corporation named Foundry and Holt Lundsford the exclusive agents for the property in 2024. Lina Chen of Preston Capital Realty and Greg Nelson of Paladin Partners represented the purchaser, the parent company of Denago EV.
