Boca Raton, Fla. (August 22, 2022) – Having recently expanded its seniors housing portfolio to now encompass almost 50 senior living communities in eight states, Foundry Commercial is pleased to announce Zachary Strunk has joined the company as Vice President of Operations for Seniors Housing. Strunk brings more than a decade of experience overseeing, leading, and directing successful operations within both skilled nursing and assisted living and memory care communities.
“Zach’s experience operating large senior living portfolios made him a natural fit for this role,” said Kevin Maddron, Foundry’s President of Healthcare Services. “As Foundry continues to establish ourselves as a diversified platform across all commercial real estate segments, we are thrilled to attract talented professionals like Zach who can help us continue the growth of our senior living operating and investments platform. Zach has extensive experience with all facets of senior living operations, from independent living through skilled nursing. He is a tremendous resource for our existing operating team and will be an integral part of the expansion of our business. We couldn’t be more delighted to have him join Foundry.”
Strunk joins Foundry from Balfour Senior Living in Colorado, where he worked for 5 years, most recently serving as Senior Director of Operations. In his role, he was responsible for supporting the overall operations of the Balfour Senior Living portfolio while also ensuring that the services offered met or exceeded the company’s high standards for quality resident care. Prior to working for Balfour Senior Living, Strunk served as Executive Director for Kindred Nursing & Rehabilitation in Colorado as well as Executive Director with Consulate Health Care in Florida.
In June, Foundry Commercial announced it had acquired the Spring Arbor Senior Living collection of 24 assisted living and memory care communities in Maryland, North Carolina, and Virginia. With the addition of Spring Arbor’s communities, Foundry’s senior living reach now encompasses almost 50 assets throughout the United States. In his new role with Foundry, Strunk will assist with the integration and ongoing management of Foundry’s senior living operating platform as well as the eventual assessment, development, and onboarding of assets for the portfolio.
Strunk is a graduate of Central Michigan University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in 2009. He achieved the AHCA/NCAL National Quality Bronze Award and was also the recipient of the Consulate Health Care Employee Engagement Award in 2014, an esteemed designation amongst all executive directors within the company nationwide.
