Charlotte, N.C. (January 25, 2024) – Known for its innovative all-day brunch and bar concept, eggspectation is bringing its unique brand of international comfort cuisine to Ballantyne Village in south Charlotte. The restaurant is expected to open on January 30th.
Foundry Commercial’s Rhett Batanides, MSFP, MPSPM represented eggspectation in the lease; Foundry’s Keely Hines represented the landlord for Ballantyne Village. Eggspectation will occupy over 4,700 square feet at Ballantyne Village with a large wrap-around partially covered and dog-friendly patio. The space previously housed a different breakfast café concept.
“Terrace Café was a very successful breakfast concept that operated for over a decade in the center. When that business was sold and they ultimately closed all their stores in the region, it left a significant void in the market for breakfast and brunch. Ballantyne Village is thrilled to have this offering back, as the demand is there from the surrounding residents, the AC Marriott Hotel and the 100,000-square-foot office tower – both of which recently opened in the village,” stated Hines, who leases retail spaces at Ballantyne Village.
The restaurant name is perhaps a little misleading, because the eggspectation dining experience goes well beyond breakfast into lunch and dinner menus, which feature complex dishes with simple but high-quality ingredients. eggspectation also features an all-day bar concept, so customers can enjoy a mimosa, a coffee cocktail, or one of eggspectation’s signature cocktails or mocktails any day, any time. The restaurant’s motto is “from Montreal with love…,” which pays homage to its French-Canadian roots, as evidenced by menu staples, such as poutine and crêpes. The vision of co-founder Enzo Renda is for eggspectation’s guests to indulge in the variety of flavors he’s enjoyed throughout his life as he travels around the world.
“The Ballantyne location is the newest franchise in the eggspectation family. We just rolled out exciting new day and evening menus across all our restaurants, and we’re excited for the diners of Charlotte to dive into our unique offerings,” said Bill Geibler, eggspectation Marketing Director. “Guests flock to eggspectation for its upscale atmosphere and a menu designed to delight every type of craving. Although many customers are introduced to eggspectation through our brunch offering, loyal customers will tell you that the sumptuous lunch, dinner, and cocktail creations have become the reason they keep coming back.”
In opening the new restaurant at Ballantyne Village, eggspectation will be adding 70 to 80 new jobs to the local economy. In addition, eggspectation will be sourcing free-range eggs from local farms. Starting early February, eggspectation Ballantyne will be open Monday through Saturday, from 7 a.m. until 9 p.m., and Sundays from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. For updates and further information, follow eggspectation on social media at @eggspectationofficial.
