Feeding the Need: Foundry’s 2021 Serve Month
One of the most immediate impacts of the coronavirus pandemic in almost every community throughout the world was the loss of wages and its correlation to food security. It has always been a tenet of Foundry’s to serve our communities well, so when it came time to prepare for our annual Serve Week in 2021, we felt called to address the issue of food insecurity.
We also learned pretty early on that our traditional Serve Week would need to stretch into more of a non-traditional Serve Month, as we factored in precautions that would keep our associates and the communities we were serving safe amidst the ongoing pandemic.
Across the platform, Foundry associates were proud to serve the following organizations, helping to sort, package, and distribute more than 119,000 pounds of food.
- Feeding South Florida
- Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida
- Metropolitan Ministries
- Feeding Northeast Florida
- North Texas Food Bank
- Food Well Alliance (Atlanta)
- Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee
- Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina
- Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina
While it may have looked different than in previous years, we were proud to come together as a company to once again give back to the communities in which we live, work, and play.
