Every year, the American Advertising Federation (AAF) solicits marketers from across the country to submit their work from the previous year for consideration of an “ADDY” Award, the advertising industry’s largest and most representative competition. The awards program attracts more than 25,000 entries every year, and when members of Foundry’s marketing teams submit their work for consideration, they are going up against campaigns and tactics produced throughout the broader advertising industry. Recognizing campaigns that launched in 2023, two Foundry initiatives were awarded ADDYs last week:
Ally Bogaczyk, Senior Graphic Designer in Raleigh, and Ashtin Hmielewski, Senior Graphic Designer in Charlotte – Gold ADDY for ICSC (International Council of Shopping Centers) Carolinas Conference. Foundry’s Charlotte and Raleigh retail teams set up a booth together at ICSC Carolinas, a conference in Charlotte that brings together professionals in the industry throughout the Carolinas and beyond. Both digital and print marketing materials and collateral were created to represent their teams at the conference. The concept of “creative retail” was developed for the event and a series of eye-catching and attention-grabbing graphics were designed and implemented throughout all of the marketing materials for a cohesive look.
“It’s surreal to win an ADDY, but it’s even more surreal to look back on what got us here. This award is a reflection of the creative space we have the opportunity to work in and the people that continue to sit in our front row. For that we’re beyond grateful,” added Ally and Ashtin.
Tara Ashton, Graphic Design Manager, based in Nashville – Silver ADDY for the Tapas & Tecovas Broker Event. Earhart Industrial Park is a 2 million square foot development in Nashville. Taking the brand identity created in-house and being the first of its kind in the Nashville market, the Nashville Industrial Team set out to have a broker event of the same caliber. Under Tara’s creative direction, event attendees checked in at Boqueria, a Barcelona-inspired tapas restaurant, where they received a name tag and a pair of boot socks before heading over for their fitting. Small groups were taken next-door to Tecovas for a customized boot fitting experience. Most of the event took place inside the restaurant, where attendees could experience virtual reality tours of the property’s interior and exterior, watch a 3D rendering video showcasing the construction process from start to finish, visit a boot branding station to have the sole of their boot branded, and enjoy passed tapas and custom cocktails. The event was a resounding success, showcasing the development’s unique features and amenities while providing attendees with a memorable and immersive experience in the heart of Nashville.
“Being involved in the pitching process for a project that holds special significance for both the Industrial team and Nashville, due to its unique scale, has been incredibly rewarding. Winning the leasing business was a significant achievement, but the chance to craft a memorable event and brand the project has truly stood out in my career. Receiving this ADDY award serves as validation for the years of effort and dedication poured into this endeavor,” Tara stated.
Tara and the Tapas & Tecovas Broker event went on to achieve recognition at the District level, as well. The campaign received a Silver ADDY in the District 7 competition, which included entries from advertising and marketing professionals in Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Tennessee.
“With talented marketers supporting teams and verticals across the country, it can be easy to get caught up in the busyness of the hundreds of projects we’re working on each year. It is so special to take the time to celebrate our team members who are being recognized at such high levels within the industry for the amazing work they are doing. At Foundry, we consider ourselves storytellers, and the graphic design elements of that storytelling are at the heart of everything we do,” said Brittney Wimberly, Director of Marketing.
