Charlotte, N.C. (August 26, 2021) – The surroundings just became a little brighter in Charlotte’s South End, following the installation of a new sidewalk art mural at 300 West Summit Ave. The building, which is leased and managed by Foundry Commercial, has recently become a landmark of sorts as people are eager to take photos alongside the colorful mural.
Designed and installed by local artist, Caroline Simas, the vibrant sidewalk outside the 64,000-square-foot Class-A office building was commissioned by Foundry’s leasing and management team to bring some added color and energy to the office building.
The mural, which was recently added to the Gold District Art Walk in South End, is part of a larger capital improvements project underway since the property was purchased earlier this year. The three-story building will also see the installation of new sunshades on the 2,000-square-foot rooftop terrace, which offers unobstructed views of uptown Charlotte.
Situated between Church and Mint Street on Summit Ave., the property is within walking distance of the Bland Street light rail station and is surrounded by a variety of neighborhood restaurants and retail.
Artist Caroline Simas asks that anyone who stops by the mural to take and post photos use the hashtag #colormehappyCLT on social media channels.
