Tampa, Fla. (February 16, 2021) – With continued momentum in its healthcare and seniors housing platform, Foundry Commercial is pleased to announce that Jimmy Yu has joined the firm as Vice President of Senior Living. Yu is based in the firm’s Tampa Bay office, which itself is experiencing exponential growth, with the additional appointments of a Market Leader and Office Broker in the past six months.
In his role with Foundry, Yu manages the platform’s senior living investments, while serving as the primary contact for operating and equity partners and assisting in acquisitions and due diligence. Yu has a long history in the senior living sector, having previously worked with national owners and operators of seniors housing across the country. In past positions, Yu has managed asset classes ranging from medical office building (MOB) and data centers, to retail and seniors housing.
“Foundry is quickly becoming recognized as a leader in healthcare and seniors housing real estate, and I am thrilled to be a part of such an entrepreneurial and dynamic company at a time when so much is changing in our space,” stated Yu. “COVID has had a major impact on the seniors housing industry during the past year, so while there are a number of important changes happening in the industry, identifying quality real estate and outstanding operators has become even more critical than ever before. Foundry’s healthcare and seniors housing platform is focused on just that.
“We are excited to welcome Jimmy to Foundry. With seven assets under management in our operating venture with Foster Senior Living, including a pending acquisition in north Florida, Jimmy will play a critical role in growing our presence and expertise in the senior living sector,” says Kevin Maddron, Healthcare Principal for Foundry.
Yu, a graduate of the University of Florida, has been involved with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Assisted Living Foundation of America (ALFA).
