-Atlanta Office Continues Momentum with Strategic Hire, Property Management Win for The Interlock in West Midtown-
ATLANTA, Ga. (August 19, 2019) – Foundry Commercial, the multi-market commercial real estate firm with offices across the Southeast and Texas, announces today the appointment of Kristin Shearer to the position of director of property management, leading the property management platform in the greater Atlanta region and focusing on operational success of all assets for Foundry’s clients.
The announcement comes on the heels of two solid years of exponential growth for the Atlanta office of Foundry Commercial, having been engaged in approximately 3.5 million square feet of leasing and management just in the last year alone. Since opening the Atlanta office in late 2016, the number of team members has nearly quadrupled, and the company executed its first investment in the market several months ago with the acquisition of a 165,000-square-foot industrial building in McDonough along with JV partner AEW. Most recently, it was announced that Foundry Commercial would be partnering with Armada Hoffler and SJ Collins to provide property management services for The Interlock in West Midtown Atlanta. This building represents a mixed-use public-private partnership with Georgia Tech, offering 200,000 square feet of office space, 90,000 square feet of retail space, 350 apartment units, 70 single-family townhomes, and a 125-room boutique hotel.
The Interlock will be among Shearer’s initial responsibilities. She brings 15 years of experience in commercial real estate, property management, and client / tenant relations, having previously worked for Stream Realty Partners as Assistant Director of Property Management. Kristin has also worked with Jamestown Properties on Ponce City Market, a 2 million-square foot adaptive reuse development in the heart of Atlanta. She began her commercial real estate career with CBRE, where she worked on multiple Class A office portfolios in Atlanta’s Buckhead and Midtown markets. While there, she was recognized with CBRE Atlanta’s Young Professional of the Year award in 2013.
“As we continue to grow our footprint in the greater Atlanta area, it’s critical that we have the right talent in place to exceed the expectations of our clients while fostering a culture that breeds creativity and results,” said Chris Hurd, managing director and Atlanta market leader, Foundry Commercial. “Kristin brings experience managing institutional Class A assets and leadership in the property management industry, demonstrating a holistic approach to client and tenant relations, as well as an inspiring leadership style that makes her a perfect fit for this role.”
Kristin is an active volunteer and champion for the Atlanta community, currently serving on the Atlanta BeltLine Young Leaders Advisory Board. She is also a member of both BOMA Georgia and CREW Atlanta. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Georgia, is a licensed Georgia Real Estate Salesperson, and is OSHA 10 Certified for Construction Safety & Health.
