Formerly NASCAR® Plaza, the Prominent Uptown Office Tower Will Remain Home to the Charlotte-based Operations of NASCAR
Charlotte, N.C. (Dec. 15, 2021) – The 20-story office tower located at 550 South Caldwell Street in Uptown Charlotte – until recently, known as NASCAR® Plaza – has been rebranded as 550 South, reflecting a shift toward focusing on the property’s ideal location in the popular Stonewall corridor of Charlotte. NASCAR will remain one of the largest tenants at 550 South, managing operations from three floors within the Class-A building, including the top two floors of the tower.
550 South is a 395,000-square-foot, LEED Gold Certified office tower, delivering high-efficiency office space and renowned for its 360° panoramic views. Owned by Cousins Properties, and leased by Foundry Commercial, leasing opportunities are available for tenants attracted to the vibrant Stonewall corridor.

The area now includes a new Whole Foods, high-end restaurants, and direct access to the LYNX Blue Line. Bank of America Stadium, Spectrum Center, and BB&T Ballpark are all located less than a mile from 550 South. Additionally, a pedestrian bridge will soon connect the Rail Trail from South End to Uptown at the nearby Westin Charlotte.
